Maximum
From the day I laid eyes on Max in 2001, I knew he was going to be mine.  I was there the day when he was brought in to the SPCA, a 4 month old floppy-eared, lanky puppy, turned in just because his owner didn't care to have him around anymore.  We brought him home and he immediately went underneath the coffee table in the living room and went to sleep, as if to say "my spot".  He never really left my side and would sleep with me at night.  My dad would take him to the golf course to chase geese away during the spring and summer, but the one thing he loved more than chasing geese was riding in a golf cart. LOL.  He did his job well when it came to protection and we could always count on him to alarm us if something wasn't right.  Diagnosed in 2007 with Degenerative Myalopathy, we were told his condition would just worsen with age, but he didn't show any true sign of failure until 3 years later. Just a few weeks before his death.  We will miss h im dearly as he was not just a dog, but a son and a brother to my dad and I.  We love you Max, rest in peace

TWO HEARTS A journey of gold, They lingered there… As the winds took them far, Beyond the distant stars… Two hearts just like one, They played in the sun… Many years passed, Like time standing still… An unbroken bond, And the love of a girl… Both free to roam, Vast hills and canyons of home… Her dog there beside her, So strong and so brave… Wandering together, No sorrow, no pain… Only love and joy sustained, Thru winds of time untamed… At the end of the line, They said their goodbyes… Tears like a river sigh, A heart torn from shore left dry… The end of a time so divine, Never again would he be mine… Goodbye my love, Those words so offend… Forever you’ll stay, My true love, my heart… We’ll meet once again, In my heart till the end… Janis Barberi © 01/26/2009

Meeka
Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our Meeka on May 15. Our time with her was way too short, only 18 months, but she quickly took over our home and our hearts. She loved to give kisses, travel, receive treats, take long walks (followed by long naps). Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in Jan, left front leg amputation early Feb; she showed incredible strength adjusting to life as a tripawd and handled chemo like a champ. With assistance of us pushing her on a large dog stroller, we were able to continue our long walks through the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the cancer metastasized in her spine - paralyzing her right hind leg and experiencing great pain. She put up a great fight - we could not have been more proud of her. Our home is quiet and our hearts are broken, but we know she ran across the Rainbow Bridge pain free on four legs and is playing with her other fur siblings - Bosco, Leni, and Maggie. R.I.P. Meekamoo.

Misha
Misha was my beloved furry friend pf 13+ years that made the trip to the Rainbow Bridge this past Saturday. Although she was alert, smiled, and was interested in what was around her, her back legs no longer were her friend and medicine no longer helped. So with a sad heart I let her go to where she could again run and play until we meet again.
