ALL applicants must submit an online application and must have be able to communicate via email with the rescue.    

• We only adopt within  NC ,  SC and  VA . YOU will be responsible for coming to  Raleigh, NC to meet any dogs! 
   
• $35 application fee   (Refundable if you are denied in pre-screening).  If your application is approved, the adoption fee is $325.

• Not every application will be approved  . Fill out the application with DETAILED answers. We will decide which applications move onto phone interviews based upon the   information ,  enthusiasm, and   thoughtfulness of  the answers on this application.  
   
• GSRA does not condone the practice of feline declawing and reserves the right to deny adoption to households where this has been a conscious choice.
   
• GSRA believes strongly in spaying and neutering of cats and dogs. GSRA will not place a dog in a home with an unaltered cat or dog. All cats and dogs in the home must be spay/neutered before adopting from GSRA.
   
• Please contact us if you have not received an email regarding the success of this initial stage of the application process within 4 weeks of submitting your application.   
   
• We HIGHLY recommend reading through our adoption process document prior to submitting an application   
   
• If you adopt a dog from us, if you have to give it up for any reason, you must return the dog to GSRA. You need to allow up to 6 weeks for us to bring the dog back into the rescue. If you cannot give us 6 weeks, you may be responsible for boarding charges. All returned dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations. Please reach out if there is a problem. We want to help you keep your dog if unforeseen events occur.
