Six-month-old Haley is a demure beauty. Her flashing eyes, plush coat, and sweet demeanor turn heads wherever she goes. But don’t let her good looks fool you. In the field, she plays ball like a champ and loves to run and play. With the right role models (human and canine), we know that she’ll blossom into an amazing friend and companion.

A little praise goes a long way with this beautiful pup. A quick study, Haley knows her basic commands and is house broken and crate trained. She’ll happily join you on a leashed walk (even though she might make illegal lane changes!).

Haley began her journey as the last pup of a breeder’s litter. We think that she and her mom spent a lot of time in the backyard with her mom, without a lot of human interaction. After she was sold, the new owner moved and couldn’t take Haley with him and Haley joined us at Blue Moon.

As a result of her early life and lack of socialization, Haley is a bit reticent around new people. The good news is that foster life is beginning to bring Haley out of her shell. Her foster sister is teaching her to “network.” Haley loves her people and, in true German shepherd fashion, follows them everywhere! She’s also great with other dogs with a first time slow introduction.  Haley has been going to doggie daycare and learning to play with larger dogs and really enjoys it.  With her growing confidence, Haley is emerging from her cocoon to become a truly amazing butterfly.

Interested in helping Haley achieve her promise? Haley still needs an experienced German shepherd owner to guide her to adulthood and to show her the ropes. She’d also love to have a playful, well behaved older male dog as a companion and mentor. And she’ll need a fenced yard so that she can securely run and play. Unfortunately, Haley probably wouldn’t do well with small dogs, female dogs, or children.

Anyone interested in adopting Haley must have experience as a large dog owner - a working dog or German shepherd owner is a great plus.  They should previous experience working with a shy and non-confident dog to help Haley reach her full potential.  They must also have a secure fenced in backyard.
