Henry is a sweet, loving, and loyal dog. He was rescued recently from a kill shelter. He seems to have been an "outside dog" in that he shows minimal training of typical dog skills such as sit, lay down, and walking on a leash. He comes when called already. He is picking everything up so quickly though. He is great with other dogs, accepting my older, smaller dog as alpha immediately. He shows no food aggression, even with bones. He is already accepting of my cat and clearly had not been exposed to them prior. He is able to remain loose in the home when we are there, but his separation anxiety is a challenge. He is unable to be contained in a crate. He has both eaten through and knocked over and escaped through the bottom of a metal 48" crate. He is too difficult to get on an outside lead for me, knocking me over etc while attempting regardless of the motivation. He has recently escalated in his indoor separation anxiety behavior, not even maintaining for 20m without destruction to furniture. He is exercised and provided bones/toys without success. He is so sweet and loving, but at this time requires someone with the ability to keep him outdoors when alone or remain with his human.
