ACE ~6 years old. Good with dogs & older considerate kids. Cats TBD. Needs a companion animal.

GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.

Ace is approx. 6 years old and as sweet as they come.  He is beyond precious; in other words, just a big loveable fellow. He LOVES being with his family and will be your second shadow. This boy loves attention and will take all you want to give. He loves being out exploring new things and going for walks. He also rides nicely in the car. He is wonderful with other people and has done well with the dogs he has been around.  He has done very well with my female pup. He was very quiet the first couple of days but by day 3, he was barking and happy to see me when I got home.  His tail couldn’t wag fast enough. <3

Ace has free reign 24/7 in the house with my pup and has done very well. He is house-broken and non-destructive. He walks well on a leash.  So far he has hasn’t shown signs of a high prey-drive but that may change once he starts feeling better.  He saw a couple of cats in carriers at the vets but didn’t seem interested.  Just a little curious what was in the carrier and to get a sniff.  lol

Ace is underweight and will probably top out at 90+ lbs.

Ace was found in a small rural community where he was found caught in a coyote trap.  One of the volunteers from the shelter took him home for the weekend and said he was great.  He was very friendly with people and did well with her dogs.  He was very quiet and quickly fit into their routine.  She didn’t crate him and he found a dog bed and slept their w/o any accidents.  She said he was super docile; he is like an old sole.  The shelter said that teenagers had walked him and he did very well.

Ace is a very sweet and loving boy. He would do well in a home with a fenced yard and a companion.  He would love a family who loves going for walks and adventures.  I haven’t had him around children but with his personality, I believe he would do well with older considerate children.

Ace does have heartworms so he won’t be ready to go to his new home until around the first of May.  I’m sure his personality will continue to shine as he starts feeling better.

So, do you think this loveable boy might be what you are searching for?
