Are you looking for a big goofy Teddy bear? Please let me introduce you to Teddy.  He is about 3 yrs and a big old goofball that loves being with his people. He loves attention and will take all the love you have to give. Not to mention all the love you will get in return. He enjoys being outside, running around, playing, going for walks, and exploring new things. He rides great in the car. Teddy hasn’t learned what toys are yet so I guess in his previous life he never had any. ☹

Teddy has done fine with some female dogs.  He can get a bit too excited at times when meeting new dogs so it is best to have slow intros to give the excitement time to settle down. He does love to play as you can tell from his videos.  He was playing with Gracie (also available) and they were having a blast.  He can be a bit of a rough player so he would need a dog who would be okay with his play style. He loves to play chase with other dogs. He is a dominant male so might not do well with another male.

Teddy is crate trained but he is not a fan. He is house-trained and has done fine when left to free reign in the house. He is heartworm negative and neutered.

He was found as a stray so not much is known about his background. He wandered up to a home in the country and just started hanging around. People tried to find his owner but were unsuccessful. They could not keep, so brought to shelter. The shelter was very impressed by how well-behaved he was and contacted one of our volunteers. He is a large and strong boy.

Teddy will need an experienced owner.  He is a diamond in the rough.  He will need someone to help show him the ropes.  He is not bad on the leash but will need some continued training.  The good thing is he is food motivated so that is always a good thing with training. Teddy loves people and sometimes can get excited to see you and run and jump on you.  He can also be a little mouthy at times.

Teddy would do best in a home with a fenced yard. He needs a place where he can run and play to help burn off some of his energy.  He would do fine with a female companion or as an only dog if someone was home a lot. Because of his size and play style, it is best that he not go to a home with small kids or small dogs.  Kids would need to be at least 12 or older.

Does he sound like the big lovable goofball you have been looking for?
