Koda is an excellent guard dog. He loves to play with other dogs his size or bigger. He wants to be dominant but will submit to older dogs. We didn’t get him neutered so he can grow as much as possible first. I made his food the whole first year so he is not malnourished just a skinny guy. He has been raised around dogs, cats and chickens.

He knows sit, lay down, go to bed, go to your room. Which is a large crate. He is crate trained. He is fence trained and lead trained. He has never had a shock collar. He knows to let you go first out the door. He can ride in cars with one or 2 adults.

Koda’s current issues are stranger aggression. He has never bitten anyone. We took him in at 4 months and before that he was never socialized. He has not been very people socialized because we have no children, and we only have animals. His biggest problem is he scares people, so they don't want to be around him. He is a good boy. He is trained to sit far away from you and wait for permission to retrieve the food you leave. I have trained him to let me take his food but since getting bigger I am more hesitant. He likes to learn and will make the perfect protector and guard dog. Sometimes he sleeps outside but will bark at every squirrel or rabbit or any other animal. He is possessive of his family, and this makes him unwelcoming to other people. We are rehoming him because he scares my daughter who just moved in with us. He does not heal once he "goes off" he jumps very high and that is scary as well. He does not invite anyone to pet him or get near him when he is in the fence. It’s been 2 years and this aggression has never lessened. He is a task dog not so much a people dog. He would be the perfect police dog. With my daughter moving in we will not pay to have him trained. I have done all the work to make him a good family dog, but he needs with being a good "people dog". We have friends that have small children and pretty much ignores them. Its more the eye contact of a grown adult or teenager that sets him off. With me and my bf he is docile but that’s it.

I hope this describes him the best way possible. He's a good boy. He can sing and is pretty good at getting baths. He loves stuffed animals especially from goodwill. The loves to "get that" meaning his toys or anything you want him to bring to you. He likes to help on the farm. He will take off exploring. He would be the perfect travel or adventure dog as long as he gets people training.
