Kovu is a handsome, long-haired, 2 year old, German Shepherd Dog and is full grown at approximately 70-75 lbs. He's not too keen on strangers approaching the fenced in backyard and will alert with a big bark. He is learning that strangers aren't all that scary and alerting his family isn't always necessary.

He loves his family and is truly a velcro dog, but doesn't choose to greet new people. Kovu tolerates most dogs, once properly introduced, but shows more interest in his people. He will bark initially at new sights, but isn't aggressive.  His foster is getting him out for experience with new sights, scents, sounds, and strangers to help him gain confidence and flexibility. Kovu enjoys spending time with his people, but also needs to learn how to cope with being home alone.

Kovu also needs a consistent handler to provide boundaries and structure in his life. He has been allowed to be pushy with his previous family and will whine and jump to get his way. However, with continual training he will thrive as the beautiful boy that he is! Kovu keeps a clean crate but is working on being quiet when crated while his foster is at work.
