Zeke is a 7-month old shepherd mix. I rescued him and his brother when they were 3 months old. They were to be euthanized due to ringworms.
He is a great puppy and is very affectionate. He loves to cuddle, and give hugs, and lots of kisses. He knows his name, sit, and walks well on a leash. I never wanted to have to rehome him, but he has unfortunately become aggressive towards his brother. I have since learned that when adopting two male siblings it is not uncommon for this to occur. He is great with my 10 lb, female, toy poodle. So I wouldn't say he is unfriendly with other dogs per say, I would just say he is incompatible with his brother.
I am hoping to find Zeke a home with an active owner. He requires plenty of exercise. The ideal home would be with a jogger or hiker, who is experienced with a shepherd breed. He is a happy boy, but he is going to require some effort. He is currently apprehensive around new people and animals, but if you give him a minute he does warm up to new people. I honestly do not know about new animals. He has never been around any animals other than the ones in our household. It was a little difficult to socialize him due to him being in quarantine until he was nearly 6 months old due to ringworm, and being in the middle of COVID.
But he is highly teachable and ready to learn. He has already grown so much since I have had him. When I first brought him home he was even scared of human hands. For this reason also I want to be sure that he goes to a home that only uses positive reinforcement with him, he is very sensitive to correction. If you think Zeke would be a good fit for you contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
