SARINA ~1 year old.  Good with older considerate kids, small dogs, and cats.  Not good with large dogs.

GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only

They say I’m a classic sable shepherd. I don’t know what that means but I do know I love hanging out with people! I love going to the restaurants - everyone I meet is a friend.

I’m told I need to learn some manners; I need some structure and some training. All of which I’m pretty sure you will appreciate more I will.

I spent most of one afternoon with a pack of six very small dogs. I was very respectful to them, but that’s probably because they were kind of mean to me. I think I would get along OK with little dogs, as long as the little dogs are the boss. I like to nip at big dogs, so you really have to be willing to work with me, or no big dogs in the house.

A cat smacked me on the nose a couple of times so I think I would be good meeting your cats as long as we keep that leash-thing on and the kitties don’t run. I love to chase things!

Until I learn my new home, I’m going to need some serious supervision. I like to stick my nose in places I shouldn’t. Even when I’m told no, I do it anyway. I probably should’ve listened when I was told no don’t stick your nose in that blackberry bush - youch - but shredding that toilet paper roll was a lot of fun (I was told no on that too!).

Don’t pick up my dog bowl after dinner - sit down and enjoy the dog-bowl shenanigans! I can entertain now!

I’m sweet, I’m kind and I’m gentle, and, okay, I’ll say it - I’m mouthy. I just really I need a person to guide me. Maybe that’s you?

Sarina Recap!
Medium energy
People-focused, kind dog that likes to put her mouth on everything
Fenced yard - 5’ minimum with secure bottom (she will test it).
Long-term, slow intro to another dog, but prefer no other dogs
Needs time to acclimate to new situation
Good with cats but cats must fight back. She will chase cats that run.
High prey drive so no small animals
No young children
Needs a patient owner, willing to work with her
Mouthy - she does not bite down, she just likes to have her mouth on your hand. She will nip at big dogs.
Food driven, so, easy to train
