GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only

Hi! I’m Loki. I’m a medium sized energetic German Shepherd who is about a year old. I am high energy and I love to run and wrestle with my foster siblings, but I also love quiet time lounging in front of the TV. I currently have 2 canine foster siblings – one is high energy like me and we play very well together. He tells me when he has had enough playing and I leave him alone. My other foster sibling is older with low energy. I stay away from him when he tells me to, but will sometimes go back to make sure he hasn’t changed his mind. I haven’t had much interaction with the resident cat, cause my foster mom thinks I might chase her so I should be supervised any small furry animals until I learn my manners. However, the resident bird is of no interest to me!!

I also live with an 8 year old little girl. Oh how I love her and her friends. I watch over them when they play in the back yard. I don’t always know my size and might knock over a small child so I probably shouldn’t live with anyone under 8 or so.

My foster mom says I am very smart but I need some more training, mostly due to my age. I still pull on a leash, but I am house broken and crate trained. I currently eat in my kennel and I will run straight to it and sit down if I see my food bowl in your hand. I know “sit”, “no” and “leave it” most of the time. I need some work on not jumping on or scratching the back door when I’m ready to come in, but we are working on it. I have also been known to pick up and carry around shoes and will tear up stuffed things. My foster mom says that this is because I am young, but I am very easily re-directed especially which bones which are my favorite!

Basically, I am a good boy who wants an energetic canine companion, a loving family and lots of treats and toys. I need a family that is willing to work with me and help me learn my manners and I promise to give lots of love and kisses in return!
