~2 years old.  Good with dogs.  Kids and cats TBD.

Hey Everyone, I've had the pleasure of taking care of Thor for the past few weeks and I can say he is going to make a great friend for someone very soon.

Thor is a very handsome, medium to large White Shepherd. He attracts a lot of comments and questions whenever I take him out in public. He is fully house trained, and when properly exercised walks well on a leash. So far he has been very attentive and will be incredibly easy to train in the future. He has not as of yet shown much interest in toys or balls, but instead prefers to just be involved in whatever activity I'm doing at the moment.

Personality-wise, Thor is a very easy going dog, who needs a moderate amount of daily exercise. When he doesn't get this, he can become a little unruly, especially given his size. But when he's getting daily runs or trips to the dog park he is very well behaved at home. He is a bit of a velcro dog, and prefers to be underfoot at all times.  At the moment I am not crating him when I am gone, and he has been much happier and well behaved since I stopped. He has chewed on a few items, but has never gone out of his way to find something while I've been gone.

Thor's absolute favorite activity is going to the dog park. He is a great socializer, and well behaved with other dogs of all sizes. When on leash he can sometimes be intimidating when approaching other dogs due to his size and enthusiasm, but he has never shown any sign of aggression towards other dogs. He also makes a great running companion, and is good about keeping proper pace at whatever speed you're going. He hasn't really shown any interest in balls or other toys as of yet. I am not sure how he is with cats, but my suspicion is that it would not be a good idea. I think he would do great in a house with other dogs, but he is also quite happy being solo as long as he is getting good socialization outside the house.

With people, Thor is a little more cautious. He can be a skiddish when approached by a new person, and will sometime bark loudly at people coming up to him. That said he has warmed up to almost everyone in a few minutes. He will bark loudly at people walking by the front of the house if he's on the porch. He's generally done great both in public and at other people's homes.

All that said, Thor is a young, curious, well adjusted dog, who really just wants to be best friends with someone. I think he would do great in an active household, with or without other dogs. Preferably with someone who has some experiencing training shepherds and can handle a large strong dog. Thor is waiting for a great home and I don't think it will take long for him to find one.
