~3 years old.  Good with dogs.  Kids and cats TBD.

Meet little Vada, a shy little girl who is just a goofy love bug once she gets to know you. Vada came to GSRA from a shelter, as many of our wonderful dogs do. Vada was a little different. She was marked as "Rescue Only" since she was so very shy. She would not even stand up in her cage...she just cowered in the corner, scared and confused. Once we saw her, we knew she deserved a chance to see what love is all about.

Vada is a classic black/tan shepherd. She has a smaller build than most...she is only about 60 pounds. The vet guesses that she is approximately 3 years old. Vada has a beautiful soft coat, and very gentle and expressive eyes.

Vada has been in her foster home for several months. She has been spayed, and has gone through HW treatment. During these few months, she has learned to trust and love again. She is just such a happy little girl. She will happily run around me in circles when we are outside, and loves to flip over for a good belly rub. She also likes to try to play "paw tag" with you while she is having her belly rubbed. Vada does regress and become very timid around new people, so she will need a patient family to give her time to adjust to them. Once she gets to know you and trust you, she is an very interactive and happy dog!!

Vada has recently "discovered" the tennis ball, and loves to toss it in the air and bat it around for herself!! Vada loves most other dogs, but is a bit lacking in social introduction skills. She likes to charge right up to new dogs and engage in play right away...can be a bit overbearing to a dog that prefers the usual calm sniff type of intro. She plays well with a couple of the resident dogs and will happily run, wrestle, tackle and play tag.

Vada is housebroken and crate trained, and has not demonstrated a large propensity to bark (except at dinnertime!!). Vada might never become a social butterfly, but with a little love and patience she will make a great and devoted companion for some lucky family.
