We are located in Waxhaw. We've had him since he was 2 months old. He was given to me by a cousin of mine, who had just been diagnosed with cancer and discovered her years were numbered. She paid good money for all her animals, she stated that she paid $500 for Rocky, he was the only “stud” in his litter and is a full bred (accordingly, I never got papers done up for him). She wanted her animals to go to good homes. At the time, my small family of four, was looking for an addition and we felt the time was right. We happily took him. We had been living in a rental for 4 years at this time. We paid pet fees where we live, and had him fully vaccinated (over the months). Little to our knowledge, the same month we got him would be the same month our landlord decided to sell her home. We had no idea this was coming and did not believe it was a possibility during that time, as she had just pleaded with us to stay there for many years. The move did not go well, and our living arrangements did not suit animals, none the less, we tried everything we could to keep him apart of our family. Due to our move, he has developed anxiety. He had a minimal food aggression when we received him (this behavior was taught by my cousins other dogs, she did not inform us until months later about this), and has become more severe since moving. He is not harmful towards other dogs *from what we've seen*, but he does get extremely excited around them. He also jumps on people, including children. He's tolerant of children, but not around his food. He is kenneled trained. He does not do well with cats or livestock, like chicken. We have chosen to surrender him not because of any of this, but for 2 other reasons. One being that the place we have moved too (a rental) is under going foreclosure, and two being financially, we can no longer provide him with quality care. I am not able to update his yearly shots, nor feed him the way he needs to be fed. This is a difficult decision, but I’m not sure what else to do. I do not wish to take him to the pound or local shelter, and I feel he has potential if he is in the right environment.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GSRA DOG. ONLY CONTACT THIS INDIVIDUAL ABOUT THIS DOG. THE CONTACT HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH GSRA AND GSRA CANNOT ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS DOG.
