UPDATE: 3/6/13:
Candy-O update!! "I'm not a wild child anymore!"

I was 4 months old when GS Rescue saved me from a high kill shelter. I had no chance. I was alone, scared and in need of a leader. I was DOOMED without a rescue. I'm 1 1/2 years old now and quite a calm girl now. I am a g.s. mix, (heavy on the mix probably lab ) and full grown. I am a perfect size for an apartment dog or a new addition to your pack. I love to go for rides in the car or just hang out with you on the couch. I love children, kisses kisses, they usually have tasty things their cheeks and hands! I will warm your bed for you at night or get off when you ask me to. I am totally bribe-able. I am your best friend for a treat. I watched lots of Scooby Doo growing up, I know the deal! I'll do or learn anything for a treat! I really like dogs and people. I am crate/house trained, no accidents for me! I can be a little shy with strangers but a well placed treat and I am your best friend! I don't look very shepherd-y but I grew up in my foster home with 5 German Shepherds and 2 x-large mixes, ALL BIGGER THAN ME! Let me tell you that my heart, head and soul has been shaped by German Shepherds and my Mommy!

UPDATE 3/1/12:   Now that I've had some time with Candy-O I can tell you more about her.  She will stay relatively small in size.  She would be a great playmate for another dog but she is confident enough now to be an only dog in the house.  Candy-O is crate-trained and housebroken and can hold it over night.  She sleeps in my bed at night (baddd foster mommie).  She is active but has an "off button" now.  She can play in the yard, come in, get a toy and go lay down.  Candy-O walks nicely on a leash and rides well in the car.  She goes to doggie day care every week with foster mom.  She is very loving and affectionate.  Always has a kiss for anyone ready.  Candy-O comes quickly when she's called.  She has very good recall!  Candy-O loves to be with people.  She is a good snuggler, smart and eager to please you.  She has been easy to train and love.  Candy-O looks like a mix, but her heart is pure German Shepherd love.  She lives with 8 dogs and 5 cats and get along very well. She is generally non-destructive but like most pups, I would not leave food in her reach unattended!  Candy-O has been waiting for a great home to come home to.  Is your home ready for a Candy-O Awesome!!?

ORIGINAL: "Candy-O I need You" is a line from a Cars tune! This pup came from a shelter where she was to be put down. She felt very alone and scared. Her foster mom was contacted and fell in love with her. She is far from fearful now! Candy-O loves to play with her 9 (bigger) foster siblings and does well with the house cats. Some play time with the younger cats can easily be stopped with a word. She will go full throttle and then crash for a nap. Candy-O is crate trained and house trained. She needs a young, active doggy pal to play with and show her the ropes of the house. She definitely needs a fenced yard to burn off all her energy. She is smart and learns very quickly anything you want to teach her. She can get a toy and go lay down. Candy-O rides well in the car and will settle down in the back for a nap. This is a lucky girl indeed as we almost lost her. Who wants to continue her lucky streak and give her the best home?
