Caesar
On May 23, 2008 Caesar (formally known as Jake) found his forever home in Raleigh, NC. He settled in at 73lbs and had a few ups and downs in the first month. He and Raven got along well and he slept a lot during the first week. Around the middle of July he really came out of his shell and was finally interested in dog toys. He really had no idea what to do with tennis balls and stuffed animals. Raven has a few old Christmas stockings that he quickly stole from her to chew. In early August, he was very proud of himself after he destroyed two new squeaky stuffed animals. We were thrilled that he had such a good time and knew what to do with them. Caesar and Raven go to the dog park usually once a week and we take nice long walks when its not too hot. It took him a while to gain the energy needed to walk around the block but can go for miles now. He has two big beds to choose from but he usually sleeps next to our bed or in the bedroom door threshold. Caesar really has the GSD protective characteristic and it grows more every day. I am amazed at how attached he has become and if a rescue dog can cling more than another, its Caesar. He has every right as a dog to be fearful, vicious, and weary of humans. He is none of those and never has been. He is loyal, attentive, protective, loving and of course, perfect. Today, he is a solid 86lbs, dark sable coat and he stretches out whenever and wherever he pleases. Caesar is a rescue success story and I think he is happy and wouldn't be with us today or even alive if wonderful and caring people didn't intervene.
Thank you
